The air is thick, the filthy streets are empty, and abandoned cars litter the roads, the town's only dismal population. You follow the torn-up concrete and find a trail of collapsed telephone poles. Although you're certain their long black wires are no longer live, you keep your distance all the same. They seem to hum, a vibration that can't be heard, only felt in your bones.
